Telling Stories for the Season: Magical Winter Tales

Winter SceneThe nights are growing longer, and the holiday season is upon us...  Come learn how to craft folk tales that enchant and captivate children and adults, as well as how to find appropriate stories for counteracting winter blues and cabin fever--through movement and humor!  During this workshop, we will discuss how to tell winter-themed stories for different ages and groups; as well as well as tips for crafting a story on the fly.  Come discover your own storytelling voice...

This is the second workshop in our seasonal storytelling series: Telling Stories for the Season with Instructor Ann Harding.

Ann's storytelling began with hearing and telling stories as a child. Her love of stories flourished during her time as a preschool/kindergarten teacher, and before graduating from Naropa University, she wrote her final thesis on storytelling and how it supports secure psychological attachment between children and caregivers.  Ann's warm and friendly spirit will make participants feel right at home, comfortable to explore their own voice and imagine the potential that storytelling can hold for their lives.

No experience necessary.  Please bring a notebook and pen.  For ages 14 and older, minimum of 4 participants, maximum of 10.  Pre-registration is required.  If you are an early childhood teacher, you will receive learning credits for this workshop, approved by the Early Childhood Council of Boulder County.
